Ballet Folklórico La Paloma has been an esteemed cultural delegate for Tucson, AZ, notably at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and London,England in 2012. The American Alliance of Performing Arts Educators has frequently extended invitations to our group for international appearances. Despite the educational commitments of several dancers, our collective ambition is to tour globally post-education, sharing the esteemed Mexican performing arts that have previously received widespread praise.

Your support is crucial for the continuity of our costume craftsmanship and restoration. As we welcome new talent, personalized costuming is essential. This year’s inaugural performance spearheads a series of entertainment and fundraising endeavors. Your backing enables us to maintain our commitment to folk art across all age groups and to offer pro bono performances that serve the community, including church fundraisers and entertainment for seniors in residential care.

Meztucas Bio: Ballet Folklorico Los Mextucaz was established in the fall of 2008 under the direction of Angelica Lopez. Having only 5 members, Los Mextucaz quickly grew into a large diverse family of 65 inspired talented dancers starting from the age of two. Los Mextucaz mission is to instill a great love of dance, while promoting self-determination, confidence, discipline and a respect for the performing arts. Los Mextucaz continues to promote the roots of Traditional Ballet Folklorico in its nearest authentic form aligning precision, balance, poise and technical fundamentals of footwork. Director Angelica Lopez recognizes every student’s talent and how dance drives the passion to give their very best as well as support one another as a united front.
